Health & Safety Officer (automotive and industrial) - construction and shutdown projects; oversee all trades/subcontractors to ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and legislation; develop, implement and maintain health and safety policies and procedures and all related administrative controls; conduct job hazard analysis for all job tasks and ensure development and implementation of safe work practices and procedures for each; ensure use of required personal protective equipment; ensure implementation of emergency evacuation and rescue plans; elimination of unsafe work practices; issue safe work permits; conduct site inspections and complete inspection reports; assess and ensure completion of all required safety training; arrange and/or conduct onsite safety orientations, safety talks; conduct accident and incident investigations and report completion.

Title: Confined Space Rescue Technician
Reports to: Rescue Team Management
SDS is looking for Rescue Technicians who are qualified to perform a variety of confined space rescue procedures. Candidates must be willing to work at a variety of construction and industrial sites in the GTA and surrounding areas.
Confined Space Rescue Technician, Technical Rope Rescue, Confined Space Entry Training is mandatory.
A valid Standard First Aid / CPR / AED Level C (minimum) and an unrestricted driver’s license are also required.
Hours of work: Regular, shift work and weekends.
Required education: Diploma/Certificate for Confined Space Rescue Technician
Required experience: 2 years Rescue Technician - experience in a construction environment is an asset.
Special Working Conditions: Site to site traveling required. Must be able to work long hours, lift heavy equipment and stand for long periods of time.

We are currently seeking resumes from qualified candidates with a background in Construction Safety Training, who are looking for a challenging and rewarding position within our organization as a “Safety Training Instructor.” The chosen candidate must have excellent communication skills, client relation and computer skills with the willingness to manage all training programs; updating the programs based on any new MOL requirements, or updates to the OH&S Regulations.
Special Working Conditions: In-office training; travelling to and from on-site training; flexible schedule as times may vary. Drivers abstract required for use of company vehicle.
